Bike to Work treated the winners of the Summer Challenge to a luxury feel-good moment for their team, together with the sponsors Bosch eBike Systems and B2Bike bikes for businesses.

The members of team Stoofvlees from Sint-Niklaas City, winners in the 100%-category, and team Cancellara Boys from BNP Paribas Fortis, winners in the new-comers classification made a cycling trip with eBikes through the Scheldeland. The teams met up for a meet & greet with Bike to Work and the sponsors at Estaminet d’Oude Poort in Hingene. The victory was celebrated with champagne and finger food. They exchanged cycling experiences and tips in a friendly atmosphere.

André, the team leader of the Cancellara Boys, has been participating in the Summer Challenge for 10 years. With his annual commute to and from work adding up to 8000 km on his counter, he was able to raise the interest of his young team mate Sam to join the competition for the first time, with great success!

Rebecca and Bart from team Stoofvlees (‘carbonade flamande’) proved to be man and wife. Bart invented the striking team name. Rebecca ensured the victory with her answer to the tiebreaker ‘How many kilometres was cycled by all participants of the Summer Challenge of 2019 together?’.

Moment suprême was een bezoek aan fietsenhandel Van Straeten te Bornem waar elk teamlid een bedrag van €250 kon uitgeven.

The highlight of the day was a visit to the cycle shop Van Straeten in Bornem where each team member could spend an amount of €250. Rebecca and Bart left the shop with a new bike for their daughter. Sam found something to his liking in the large selection of bicycle locks for his family and friends and André invested his budget in solid cycling equipment to use on the road.

The lovely cycling weather turned the day into an absolute party.
