Bike for Life

Bike for Life raises record amount!

Bike for Life, the annual solidarity cycling campaign of Fietsersbond vzw, has had a record edition! During the third edition, 4,410 cyclists from 51 employers participated from October 3 to 31, encouraged by ambassador and weatherman Bram Verbruggen. Bosch eBike Systems, P&V Insurance and Blue-bike gave the campaign a boost.

The Warmest Peloton cycled 361,222 km during one month, a distance equivalent to nine times the earth's circumference. Participating employers sponsored the 46,945 bike rides their employees cycled to and from work. This yielded a record amount of €52,925. All bike rides together accounted for a CO² reduction of 63 tons. Sport Vlaanderen, Vereniging van Vlaamse Steden en Gemeenten, Netwerk Lokaal Sportbeleid, Netwerk tegen Armoede and  Mobiel 21 supported Bike for Life as partners.

A bike for all!
All proceeds go to 'A bike for all', the operation of Fietsersbond that wants to tackle transport poverty thanks to bicycle solutions. Volunteers from local Fietsersbond's branches can submit a project through which they help vulnerable people in their neighborhood or community to get a bicycle and assist them in using it. These local projects will be selected and launched in the spring of 2023.

De Warmste Week

'A bike for all' has been selected as one of the projects of De Warmste Week 2022. The well-known benefit campaign on national radio and TV has poverty as its theme this year. The Fietsersbond is making a warm appeal for additional actions to benefit 'A bike for All' to help even more people in transportation poverty get on the road with a bike.
