Plan your cycle-friendly route to work

Set up an account on www.biketowork.be. Create your route to work and receive bike route advice. The bike routes use Open Street Maps, a map data bank that specifically takes account of the cycle infrastructure in your neighbourhood.

Adjust your route by adding in waypoints, additional rides and other means of transport.  Plan a cycle route with the app (which will be launched in June) and make use of navigation.

Monitor your cycling performance

Register your trips to work on your personal calendar. The counters keep track of the number of kilometres you have cycled, how many days you have cycled and how much you have saved in CO2 emissions. It is also possible to calculate your bike rate (percentage of biked days/working days).

Watch your statistics on a weekly, monthly or yearly base.

Push your cycling to work ambitions by setting your personal Bike to Work goal. Monitor you daily progress by adding your bike rides to your calendar.

During competitions such as the Spring Challenge you always see an increase in the numbers of bikers. The bike coin system is an additional incentive for our employees to carry on cycling as much as possible during the year, for each bike ride earns them 2 bike coins, which may be used to participate in the Velottery. Moreover, the online platform also provides you with a good total overview of the number of kilometres that your employees have biked.

CEO of Toeleveringsbedrijf Van Landuyt

As an employer we promoted the bike in particular as an extra-legal advantage. All employees receive the maximum of the exempted bike allowance: 24 eurocent per biked kilometre. The Bike to Work platform contains a smart reporting tool to register the bike allowance and to import those data easily into the payroll processing package of the social secretariat.
