Bosch eBike Systems gives Bike for Life a leg up
Bike for Life is the benefit campaign of the Fietsersbond that aims to make a bicycle affordable for everyone. From 3 to 31 October, employees of more than 40 employers will cycle sponsored bike rides to work. The Fietsersbond is pleased to announce that Bosch eBike Systems, the market leader in e-bike drives, is supporting the campaign as main sponsor.
Bike for Life fights transport poverty
Almost 400,000 households do not have a bicycle at home. 8% of the population are in transport poverty. With the proceeds from Bike for Life, the Fietsersbond wants to make bicycles and cycling solutions affordable for people who are in underprivileged circumstances.
E-bikes can really offer a solution to transport poverty, says Wim De Groof, responsible for Bike for Life: "We pick up in the sector that there is a great need among vulnerable people for bicycles that enable a longer action radius. An electric bike makes it possible, for example, to find work in a shift system because you get there at a time when public transport is not available. We are therefore very pleased that Bosch eBike Systems is supporting the Bike for Life campaign as main sponsor."
It is the Fietsersbond's ambition to use the proceeds from Bike for Life to also invest in e-bike solutions.
